The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) has ushered in a new era of the Digital Economy. Early this year, AIF embarked on a consumer study to understand the role and drivers of trust towards FinTech and the financial services industry (FSI), well as understand how stakeholders could enhance future trust for consumer advocacy. 

Join us at our Consumer Trust Forum for an interactive session with our five-member panel consisting of experts from the FSI and the FinTech ecosystem. 

The Forum has been designed to provide engagement between participants and panel members to discuss current pertinent challenges and those that are likely to emerge in the future.

Winnie is the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer/Chief People Officer of PolicyStreet. PolicyStreet advances insurance by providing demand-led online insurance coverages which are simple to understand, easy to obtain and affordable. PolicyStreet demystifies jargons to present insurance in a layman manner and provides continuous series of insurance education to the underserved through online and offline outreach.

Winnie’s 7 years of insurance industry experience encompasses actuarial roles in data mining, predictive modelling, product development to business roles in financial analytics, impact assessment and stakeholders’ management. She was also part of General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) Young Managers Think Tank committee, focused on identifying talent management issues plaguing the often-misunderstood industry, and initiatives to nurture next generation of insurance professionals.

Recently, she was named Forbes Asia 30 under 30, under Finance and Venture Capital category. She is currently a member of Industry Advisory Council for PayNet, Malaysia's premier payments network and central infrastructure for financial markets.

She holds the Bachelors of Actuarial Studies from the Australian National University, Canberra.

Vince graduated from University Malaya in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Social Science. He has more than 33 years working experience in financial services industry, and had worked in Malaysia , Indonesia, Philippines, Fiji Islands and Bahrain.

He had sat on the Boards of MEPS Sdn Bhd, MEPS Currency Sdn Bhd and Bonuskad Loyalty Sdn Bhd.

He was Chairman of Malaysia’s National Cards Group and was a member VISA Asia Pacific Marketing Council.

He was recognised by the Asianbanker as one of Malaysia’s Leading Practitioners in Retail Banking.

As the Chief Payments Officer of Merchantrade Asia, he is tasked with driving the overall payments business that embraces an enterprise view of payments, developing technologically innovative payment solutions that will position Merchantrade as a payments leader in the non-banking industry.

Min Ming joined United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd in a newly created role of Head, Digital Banking and is responsible for developing digital experiences to drive customer engagement. Before joining UOB Malaysia, Min Ming has previously held leading marketing and digital roles in global, regional and country capacities at HSBC Hong Kong and Malaysia; and RHB Malaysia.

Devabalan Theyventheran is currently the Head of Innovation in CIMB Fintech. He moved into this role in October 2017 to be part of a new division tasked to champion the digital aspirations of CIMB Group.

Prior to this role, he was the Head of Group Information Services, responsible for the end-to-end IT application value chain for the entire Group. This encompassed a strategic regional portfolio covering enterprise architecture and solutioning, IT strategy blueprint, executing the Group’s IT strategic transformation programmes, and managing regional shared service centres that support and maintain the core IT applications across the region. In addition, he led the Group’s initiative to integrate and standardise best-in-class IT methodologies in tools, methods and competencies across the region. In this capacity, he worked closely with the various stakeholders in the areas of new business and product rollout, regulatory compliance, and advocating technology-led innovation and change management in a rapidly changing Financial Service landscape.

Theyventheran held various positions in CIMB Group in a span of over 16 years. He was the Deputy CEO of iCIMB a wholly owned subsidiary of CIMB Bank that delivers business process outsourcing solutions to the CIMB Group, Head of Strategic Information Services Department (SIS) in CIMB Investment Bank where he was responsible for group IT, legal services and process reengineering, and Assistant General Manager for Strategic Risk and Compliance where he identified and undertook risk-related and other internal consulting assignments. Theyventheran spent most of his career in consulting before his move to CIMB Group. He was an Executive Consultant at KPMG Consulting Asia/Pacific in Financial Services (Risk Solutions) and Arthur Andersen & Co (Business Consulting) in Malaysia and has undertaken various financial services/ risk projects across the Asia/Pacific region.

Theyventheran has a Masters in Business Administration (Finance and Banking) with honors and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors in Business Administration (Finance and International Business) from the Western Michigan University, USA. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor and an associate of the Malaysian Institute of Management.
